The Mini Fastnet is a qualifying race for the Mini Transat. It is raced in double-handed on 6.50 m sailboats entering the Mini rules. There is a ranking for the prototypes and a ranking for the production boats.
This year 2021, special because of Covid, imposes on the organizer a change of course. For once, the sailboats will not leave from Douarnenez towards the North to turn the famous Fastnet lighthouse, but will sail towards the South, towards the BXA buoy which marks the entrance to the Gironde.
For this race, Hugo joined forces with a friend, Henri, with whom he shared the same sailing values. If the beginnings are laborious, the will of the crew resists to the light airs and shines in the wind which strengthens on the return. In the end, an honorable 16th place in the Mini series.
