Weather disrupts start of Transat Jacques Vabre

Only competitors in the ULTIM, Class40 and Ocean Fifty categories started the double-handed transatlantic race. The IMOCA boats have stayed alongside in Le Havre, waiting for a suitable weather window. The Class40 and Ocean Fifty fleets have returned to Lorient, and are also waiting for a weather opportunity to resume their race towards Martinique.

A departure option is rumored for Tuesday November 7.

A high-speed rally stage

Run in sustained conditions between Le Havre and Lorient, the first leg of this Transat Jacques Vabre was won by the duo Thibaut Vauchel Camus- Quentin Vlamynck in Ocean Fifty, and Abrogio Beccaria-Nicolas Andrieu in Class40.

Numerous penalties for the Class 40 fleet

The tricky conditions at the start off the port of Le Havre led to some confusion in the manoeuvres of certain crews. The race committee imposed 7 penalties, ranging from 90 minutes to 12 hours.

Movember and Acrobatica discontinued

The Class 40 Movember, skippered by Kito de Pavant and Bertrand Guillonneau, retired following a collision at the start. A second withdrawal was announced by the Class40 Acrobatica, due to the fractured tibia of its skipper Alberto Riva.

The Ultim Adagio has arrived in Brest

The Ultim trimaran Adagio was relaunched in Lorient and then positioned in Brest. Her skipper, Eric Peron, will take the start of the Arkea Ultim Challenge on January 7, 2024.

Speeding on the 2 e leg of the Mini Transat

Hugues de Prémare has set a new 24-hour distance record in a Mini 6.50 de Série and a Proto. The skipper of the Maxi 6.50 Technip Ãnergies âeuros International Coatings covered a distance of 317.25 miles, at an average speed of 13.22 knots, improving on the performance achieved by Pierre Le Roy in 2022.

Neptune ranks 8 e on the first leg of the Ocean Globe Race

After 46 days at sea, the crew of the French yacht Neptune crossed the finish line of this first 7,434-mile leg, and finished in 8th place e in Cape Town. The second leg will start on November 5, bound for Auckland, New Zealand.

72-hour penalty for Pen Duick VI in the Ocean Globe Race

The crew of Pen Duick VI, who finished second in the first leg, were given a 72-hour penalty for breaking the seal on the bag containing the crew's personal phones.

Youth Foiling Gold Cup Grand Final to be held in Barcelona from November 2
