Web series / Why did Hugo choose to run the Mini?

On the way to finishing his 1000 miles of qualification for the Mini Transat, Hugo, The Sailing Frenchman, looks back on his desire to be present in an ocean race.

Unlike many sailors who are embarking on a Mini project to cross the Atlantic solo, Hugo has already completed a similar transatlantic crossing, either on his Écume de Mer or on a crewed 70-foot boat during the Clipper Round World Race. For Hugo it is more the project management side with the financial package of the whole that attracted him to this project. But also to be able to measure himself against the others in a race, to know his value in terms of the racer, the sailor and the nautical strategy.
