Ocean racing requires finances. Hugo who wants to enter the Mini Transat is no exception to the rule, he has to chase sponsors. Indeed, first of all, he has to rent the boat (Hugo did not choose to buy it), he has to pay for the expenses, the breakage, the registrations to the races and the trainings and also to live (mainly to eat) during the 2 years of the preparation.
For his Mini and the 2 years of preparation, Hugo has planned a budget of 100 000 euros. This is the current budget for this type of race if you want to have a competitive boat with good sails. 100 000 euros, Hugo divided it into several categories:
- 20,000 of crowdfunding based on its community
- 50,000 from a main sponsor
- 20,000 from a premium sponsor
- 10,000 from various actors
Today Hugo announces its partnership with SVB, a German company that sells fittings via the Internet. An online store that has a very large stock that allows it to pull the prices down. It is now under the colors of this new advertiser that Hugo will take the start of the next events.
