Web series / How far do you take risks in ocean racing? Hugo gives us his answer

Hugo, The Sailing Frenchman looks back on his commitment to ocean racing and the risks he accepts to take in order to enjoy his sailing.

Hugo is racing in a series of races to prepare for the Mini Transat 2021. He prepares himself each time with his means, but always seriously. Seeking both pleasure in his commitments, but above all playing on performance.

At the start in Les Sables-d'Olonne for the second leg of the SAS 2020, he looks back in detail at the risks he takes in these races and his solo sailing. Indeed, there are many questions surrounding the commitment and the risks involved. Is it necessary to wear a vest in particular as soon as you carry out a manoeuvre?

Publishing his life at sea without a net, exposes Hugo to remarks from sailors or not. Seeing images of the sea, not always in calm weather, opens the debate. To what extent do you take risks just to play on the water?

Having given this question some thought, Hugo gives us his answer. It is very personal and has value only for his case, but it allows us to open the debate serenely.
