We left Hugo, The Sailing Frenchman in the middle of the race with his participation in the Mini in May. Let's remember that the sailor is preparing the Mini Transat which will start in September 2021.
This Mini in May starts well for Hugo because he takes a good start and is in 3rd position. Unfortunately, a set of sails not adapted to the course made him lose places. And the long climb upwind (120 miles!) will be a punishment for the navigator.
In the morning, he lost 10 places despite a daring option. The return under spinnaker offers him the possibility to enter the top ten and to finally finish in 6th position. A deserving place considering the level that exists today in the Mini class.
