Marvin and Daniela had been experiencing some problems with their anchorage for some time. The couple had been having trouble anchoring, slipping and even slipping while they were at anchor overnight. Their chain was too short and their anchor too light. Stressed for their safety, they decided to change their anchorage.
There were two options available to them. The first solution was to add 20 m of chain to their existing 40 m long chain, but this system had not proved to be sufficiently safe.
So they decided to buy a new 70 m long chain, an important investment, but necessary for the safety of the family. They also took the opportunity to change their anchor for a Spade anchor, generously offered by the brand. After marking their chain with red markers every 10 m and yellow markers every 5 m, Marvin now takes care of the installation.
Then it's time to get their sailboat out of the water for a major winter refit, including repairing the electrical system, which is no longer working at all.
And during this winter truce, the family decided to put down their suitcases in Reunion Island, Marvin's island, so that Tara could meet her family there.
