Web series / Nomad Citizen Sailing : Between Portugal and Reunion Island

For several weeks now, Daniela, Marvin and Tara have been anchored in Portimao, in the south of Portugal. They explain to us their choice and their upcoming schedule.

If they decided to spend the winter in Portimao, Portugal, it is however in Reunion Island that we find Daniela, Marvin and their little daughter Tara. Winter is beginning to settle in Portugal and it is in warmer latitudes that the family has decided to celebrate the New Year.

They take advantage of this stopover in the Indian Ocean to spend some good time with Marvin's family (he is originally from Reunion Island) before returning to Portugal.

If they decided to stay in Portimao, it is because they need to do some work before continuing their journey and starting the transatlantic. If this great crossing was planned for 2020, the Coronavirus and the containment they spent in Spain decided otherwise.

But this year spent on board their sailboat has nevertheless allowed them to determine what preparations were necessary for this long journey and what they want as a family. After several meetings with professionals, they have quite a few things to change to prepare themselves and sail safely: solar panels and new batteries.
