Web series / Hugo will make us live the Clipper Round World Race from the inside

Hugo changes his style. After telling us about his minimalist vision of the big cruise on a Sea Foam, he is now sharing his new life as second in command on a racing yacht that will set off on the Clipper Round World Race. In this first episode, he presents the training he will follow to ensure that he will be able to take his place.

Bateaux.com readers have been following Hugo for more than 2 years. Through his videos he made us experience his minimalist way of navigating. On his Sea Foam, which he completely renovated ( watch the first episodes to see the incredible amount of work done ), he left the French Mediterranean coast and moved to the West Indies after a transatlantic flight.

From now on, it changes its support. From 26 feet, he passes on a 70-foot race... This sailor has always wanted to sail fast. And if his Sea Foam didn't allow him, he tried to board competitive sailing boats. He is now second on one of the 11 sailboats leaving in September 2019 for a round the world trip with stopovers, on the Clipper Round World Race 2019-20. A race that will last 11 months until July 2020.

The special feature of the Clipper Round World Race is that it is run by amateurs. While the skipper and the mate are fixed on each boat, the crew is made up of amateurs who pay for their place on board and take turns during the stopovers.

The race will start on the 1st er september 2019 from London. The boats will be visible at St Katharine Docks from August 22 to 31. If you pass by there, you may have the opportunity to meet Hugo. He will be embarked on the boat sponsored by Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam skippered by the English Josh Stickland.
