Then in the heart of the Caribbean winter, our sailor, who seems to be taking more and more pleasure in filming his adventures, returns to the Mediterranean coast to sail in regattas on beautiful sailing boats. Back in the West Indies, he won't rest until he's back on the water, guided by the taste of competition, trying to find boarding places at each event.
To finish off this taste of speed and width, he applied to embark on the Clipper round the World Race: a crewed round the world race in which the crew members pay for their place. Only one skipper and one mate make up the professional crew. Hugo. Embarked as second in command and continues to share his sailing with us, this time on a sailboat of more than 20 m. For this embarkation, which lasted more than a year, he had to part with his sailboat.
While he is still in the race, with half a round-the-world trip under his belt, during the stopover in Australia, he presents us with his new project: to take part in the Mini Transat 2021. This single-handed event on competition yachts requires two years of preparation: buying the boat, preparing it and carrying out the qualifying courses to be ready to take the start.
