Web series / Training on board before the start of the Clipper Round The World

Before setting off on the Clipper Round the World 2019, Hugo, the second on board, tells us about the training he did with the crews before taking the start.

Hugo has been selected to be second on one of the 11 yachts that will race in the Clipper World Race. This very special race is run on one-design 20m sailing boats with amateur crews. The crew members join the boat after having paid for their place for one or more legs. Only the skipper and the second remain on board for the entire duration of the race.

Before leaving (1 er september 2019 in London) crews are trained to sail the boat: manoeuvres, safety, watch organisation are reviewed to ensure that the race runs smoothly.

In this episode, Hugo presents us this month of training with the constraints of these intense navigations, the joys of crossing the Channel quickly and also the technical problems that can arise.
