Web series / Behind the scenes of the Clipper Round the World Race

The Clipper Round the World Race is a crewed round the world race with a stopover on 70-foot monotype boats. Hugo participates and tells us about the adventure from inside a crew.

Hugo, The Sailing Frenchman, has just arrived to take his role as second in a Clipper 70 that will start racing around the world in September 2019. 4 months before departure, the crews are trained.

Hugo explains how the Second skipper pairs are named and how the different crews are assigned. It should be remembered that these are neophytes who are coming to participate in one or more stages of this round the world race. 600 crew members will take turns on the 11 boats. A very formal and well-tried process.

Before departure, the boats have been in London since August 22nd. If you pass through the docks of St Katharine, don't hesitate to contact Hugo, he will be on the sailboat Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam skippered by the English Josh Stickland.
