XO Cruiser: A radically different look

The XO Cruiser is one of the 2017 novelties of the Finnish shipyard XO Boat, which wanted to break with the codes with a different design. Sporty look, performance and clever layouts make it a successful model, to be discovered in photos.

The XO Cruiser is a 9.6 m sports day cruiser that will have its world premiere at the 2017 Düsseldorf Boat Show. In black and grey, its design is reminiscent of the Finnish shipyard: angular, uncluttered foredeck, two-part bow pulpit, dynamic lines... It is also equipped with a deep V-shaped aluminium hull for greater robustness.

Access into the boat is via a starboard side passageway and what emerges is an astonishing impression of width (2.77 m) and space for a boat less than 10 m wide. At the stern, the XO Cruiser is equipped with an electric galley that can be raised or lowered. In the lowered position, it becomes a bench facing the sea, and can become a large sunbathing area, coupled with the aft bench seat. The central backrest folds forward to create a very large comfort zone.

At the bow, in the centre of the boat is the cockpit, which provides an unobstructed view of the bow while underway. It is equipped with bolster seats that turn to create a dining area at the stern, with the bench seat (under which there are two refrigerators). Side benches fold out to allow up to 6 people to eat around the table. "The big news is the Naviop iLoop navigation system, which allows manual control of all the on-board equipment such as lights, levels, etc., from the touch screen. It's a bit like a home automation system." explains Ville Frost of XO Boats. A large windshield with handrails frames and protects the cockpit sufficiently due to its height. A central opening provides access to the foredeck.

Below deck, there is a very nice cabin on the port side, with headroom, very bright thanks to the large deck portholes and easy access. The small ensuite bathroom is equipped with a sink and a toilet, but has no porthole for ventilation.

Once again, XO Boat has innovated in the design of day-cruiser by proposing a layout that allows 2 more people to sleep. A canopy folded behind the steering console covers the entire cockpit area to create an enclosed space and thus accommodate 2 people sleeping on the sun deck.

Two 350 HP Mercruisers give it a top speed of over 40 knots. The XO Cruiser will also be offered in 2x250 HP.
