The XO DFNDR, the SUV of the sea by XO Boats

The XO DFNDR, new for 2017

XO Boat, a Finnish shipyard specialising in the construction of Nordic boats with aluminium hulls, will present two new models at Boot in Düsseldorf (21 to 26 January 2017). Let's discover the XO DFNDR, a model that breaks completely with the shipyard's range, destined to live adventures on the sea.

The XO DFNDR is a brand new model with an adventurous design that makes it more suitable for intensive use in difficult conditions. The first images of the boat show a robust boat, equipped for professional activities: diving, surveillance... But it will also be suitable for outdoor activities, such as water sports, or as a means of locomotion to move from one place to another, says the shipyard.

The pilot and co-pilot will benefit from suspended sports seats, installed in the centre of the boat. The cockpit is protected by a large arch that forms a sort of mini-boat house. Thus, in good weather, the XO DFNDR allows you to enjoy an open cockpit, while in bad weather, the space can be completely closed. Side walls can be installed, just like on the roof, to completely close off the space and transform it into a comfortable heated cabin (Webasto).

In this space, a rear bench seat will complete the seating arrangement and a refrigerator will allow drinks to be stored in a cool place.

For recreational purposes, the XO DFNDR has plenty of storage space on board, especially in the front, rear and top of the roll bar (a bit like a 4x4). Diving equipment, a wakeboard or camping equipment can be stored here.

Like all the models in the XO Boats range, this new model has a very deep V-shaped aluminium hull, which promises excellent sea passage, even in rough seas. Steering remains stable and easy, even in difficult weather conditions. It should be remembered that the Nordic sailing conditions have prompted the yard to produce boats capable of sailing in difficult conditions. The result is robust, resistant and high-performance boats.

The XO DFNDR is available as a single or double outboard motor with a maximum power of 2X200 HP. Designed for intensive use, this new 7.6 m model will be supplied with two versions of equipment :

  • Rider Version for adventures at sea
  • Utility Version for practical use (moving from one point to another).
