A Gozzo that combines tradition and modernity
Since 2008, Girbau Boats has been producing boats inspired by the Catalan "Llauts", the typical barques of the Costa Brava. Its latest model, the G38, is also the largest in the typically Mediterranean range, from 27 to 38 feet. This 12.52 m model, with its large platform and rounded transom in the style of the Italian Gozzo, combines traditional and contemporary design.
Different cockpit layouts
The Girbau G38 offers a variety of walkaround deck layout options, with two choices for the cockpit. Large curved bench seats on either side can be converted into a large dining area with table, or a sunbathing area. A galley unit behind the helm completes the space and includes a sink and stove. The foredeck, accessible via the 20 cm wide gangways, is well protected by a high, unobstructed balcony at the front, and features a sunbathing area with backrest. This can accommodate up to 4 people.
A cockpit for easy navigation
The cockpit is protected by a hard-top and a rounded windscreen with chrome pillars. Two medium-sized screens control the two Yanmar engines and navigation, as well as the flaps automatically. The Garmin home automation system can be customized to control alarms and lighting. The XL-sized hydraulic platform - also available as standard with a 50 cm shorter length - facilitates access to the water and simplifies manoeuvring of the tender.
Maximized, customizable interior space
Inside, the materials chosen by the shipyard bring out the luxurious, comfortable feel. Owners can customize the layout to suit their needs. Between four and six people can be accommodated inside the G38, thanks to a careful study of available space and design solutions. For example, the companionway conceals drawers and storage spaces, while the cabin doors slide to save space.
The standard version features a sofa on the starboard side. In this space, you can choose between a dinette or a convertible sofa-bed. On the port side, there's a toilet with standing headroom. At the stern, it was originally decided to leave the cabin open, although it can be separated by a bulkhead. Up front, the owner's cabin features a double bed, cupboards and drawers for storage. The colors, woods and upholstery give the boat a typically Mediterranean style.
