An outboard or inboard version
Fjord presents its latest model, the Fjord 490, available as an Open version with inboard motorization, or as a Sport version with three V12 outboards. In the first configuration, the two 2x800 hp engines propel the boat to 34 knots, while in the second, the 3x600 hp engines push it to 45 knots.

An elegant design with a characteristic walkaround deck layout
The 14.70 m unit is the work of Italian designer Marco Casali, a first for the shipyard. The hydrodynamic hull design and walkaround deck layout are designed to adapt to a wide variety of sea conditions. The hull has been developed and optimized for this model, and is constructed in sandwich for added strength.
The boat is presented as agile, comfortable, stable and high-performance. Solutions that should also make mooring easier. The lines are characteristic of the range, sleek and elegant, with the hull marked by long, continuous black glazing.

A friendly square
The cockpit can accommodate up to 4 pilot seats, and features a fully-equipped instrument panel with all electronics, controls and displays. The galley unit behind, 2.40 m wide, features a sink, a large worktop and a choice of electric grill or stove. An additional refrigerator, freezer, ice maker, electric hob or coffee machine are available on request.
The saloon area with its two electrically folding tables can accommodate up to 10 people. The large hard-top provides the necessary protection for the helm station and saloon, and can be extended with an optional electric bimini. The hard-top supports are mounted on the gunwales for added rigidity and ease of movement on board.

Storage under the sun lounger
At the stern of the 490 Sport, the large solarium opens electrically to provide storage space for water sports equipment, a paddle or diving gear. In the inboard version, this is where the engines are located, but the shipyard assures us that the storage space has also been optimized. What's new on the Fjord 490 is the cockpit, with its tilting bulwarks. The bathing platform of the Fjord 490 Open can be lowered hydraulically as an option. On request, an electric gangway can be installed on the outboard version to provide easy access and serve as a swim ladder.
As on all models in the range, the front sundeck offers a second sunbathing area, accessible via the flush side panels.
Facilitating port manoeuvres
Electric winches can be added to the stern cleats for easy mooring. Rectangular fenders are stowed in the bulwarks, within easy reach. As an option, Volvo's mooring assistance module can be installed to facilitate maneuvering.
Several configuration options for the sleeping area
Below deck, several layout options are available, with numerous customization options. In addition to the guest cabin with double berth and storage space, an owner's cabin with or without bulkhead, or a U-shaped saloon that can be converted into a bed, are all possible. A standard bathroom can be complemented by the installation of a second one. Four different interior design styles are available.
