Gunboat will officially unveil its new fast cruising model on September 9, 2025 at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This 80-foot catamaran, christened Merger marks a new stage in the development of the company, which was founded twenty-five years ago.
Positioned as a fast cruiser
Presented as an evolution of its initial concept combining performance and habitability, the Merger intends to open up a new segment dubbed by the shipyard " Gran Turismo Catamaran ". This is a more formal version, designed for long distances without compromising on on-board comfort.
Architecture by VPLP
The design was entrusted to VPLP, known for its expertise in ocean racing and cruising multihulls. The boat is built in composite, optimized for lightness and speed, although details of the exact construction method and materials are not yet specified.
Exterior design with a strong identity
The exterior lines are the work of Patrick Le Quément and Christophe Chedal Anglay, while the interior fittings were designed by Christian Gavoille and Valérie Garcia. The site emphasizes volumes, natural light and elegant proportions.
Top-of-the-range furnishings
Among the few details made public, we note the presence of a 19 m² owner's suite with direct access to the sea, as well as a panoramic flybridge. No layout plans or complete technical data have yet been released.
Interactive online presentation
In parallel with the Cannes presentation, the shipyard will be offering a digital presentation of the project, including 3D visuals and initial technical data on the boat.
