Web series / Under The Pole: First time in Ecuador, it's a celebration!

The Why left Hawaii to join Tahiti and proposes us to relive this convoy in reduced crew ! Volcanic eruption, first tuna, doldrums (and parody of advertising for shower gel), passage from Ecuador celebrated by Kayak, the dog on board and reunion in Hawaii... You can find all that in this fifth episode of Under the Pole III!

Departure from Hawaii

For this new chapter of expedition, Under The Pole has left for the hot lands of French Polynesia! A first for the Why - the expedition sailboat of the program - and its crew! For this convoy to Tahiti from Hawaii, Ghislain was accompanied by a reduced crew and Kayak, his dog

A sailing estimated at 16/18 days at sea and started under the best auspices since after a month of unsuccessful trials, the crew was finally fishing its first tuna! A departure with a last vision of Hawaii under the smoke, with Big Island (Southeast of the great island of Hawaii) in full volcanic eruption!

Shower in the pot-au-noir

During their crossing, the crew"suffered" the famous Doldrums, with its squalls and calm. And while Armand manages the navigation, others take advantage of the squalls to revisit a famous shower gel ad on the deck of the schooner! Readers, enjoy yourselves!

Ecuador is something to celebrate!

For the first time, the Why and its crew passed Ecuador and found themselves in the southern hemisphere. An event that did not go unnoticed for Kayak, the dog on board -"dogs smell like things", says Ghislain - who wanted to celebrate by... music of course! Not to be missed!

Arrival in Tahiti

After 18 days of sailing, it is finally the arrival in Hawaii, welcomed by Emmanuelle and the children! And then it's time to set sail for the next place of the expedition, in Mooréa Bay. After having imagined and prepared it for a long time, the Why will finally anchor in a small paradise on earth.

Preparing for the next coral expedition

Meeting with the Criobe (Centre de Recherches Insulaires et Observatoire de l'Environnement), which will serve as a basis for coordinating the expedition with the boat that circulates in the various islands. It will also be used to set up a consortium of international researchers who will bring their knowledge of corals to study deep corals in Polynesia, never explored before. A meeting after a year of waiting!

When there's no more, there's more!

And don't stop at the credits, you can discover Robin, 6 years old, who discovers the use of bottles and his first dive between rays and sharks!
