For 4 months, the crew of the Under The Pole III expedition criss-crossed the Northwest Passage to study Arctic biodiversity and dive more than 100 m deep into the icy waters. An adventure that we invite you to discover in video, through the most memorable moments.

In May 2017, Ghislain Bardout and Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout left for a new expedition of Under The Pole. A 3-year world tour to carry out innovative scientific diving programs. So it was on board the Why - their 20-metre-long schooner - that they set off on this 3rd expedition, with their families and a crew of divers and scientists, with the starting point being the Greenland .

The first step in their journey was to cross the Northwest Passage and to study Arctic biodiversity. At a depth of more than 100 m, in pristine places of scientific exploration, Ghislain and his divers went to study the natural fluorescence .

For 4 months, they travelled 9,000 nautical miles, setting out to encounter enormous icebergs, polar bears, huge whales and the aurora borealis. A navigation in the cold and ice, isolated from everyone, but where every moment they lived must be of crazy intensity...

Back in France after this first stage, they are now preparing the next episodes of their 3-year journey called "Under The Pole III - 2017-2020: the Pacific Ocean." We propose you to discover a teaser of the first part of their polar journey, through beautiful images that make you want to.
