In this first part, we'll see that Boston Whaler's Dauntless range is nothing short of iconic. In the Boston Whaler catalog for almost 30 years, the Dauntless series has been inserted between the Outrage, designed for offshore fishing, and the Montauk, dedicated to lakes and near-shore cruising. Quite a legacy to carry.

Boston Whaler has decided to give the family a major facelift of the Dauntless series with the introduction of the 220 and 250, replacing the 210 and 240. Above all, Boston Whaler has gone beyond a facelift to deliver a completely new boat. At first glance, it's hard not to succumb to the "Wowww" effect. The lines are simply superb.

Completely redesigned, the hull is deeper, with a hull angle 2° closer and a slightly higher deck line. The rounded nose has also disappeared, to be replaced by a pointed, conquering bow in the image of the Outrage series. In fact, from the outside, the 250 Dauntless looks a bit like a mini Outrage, and no one will complain about that.

An Outrage-like concept

The Dauntless has gained 4 inches in length, which has enabled the team to improve the deck layout. It features a new, more formal console, closer to the world of offshore fishings. The front panel of this console is capable of accommodating a 12-inch electronic screen, and a large glove compartment. There's also space for the Vessel View, switches, cupholders and a VHF.

The driver's station also features a footrest and is protected by an large windshield. Taking advantage of the hull hollow, the interior of the console is large enough to accommodate a chemical toilet, while at the front there's a lounge seat for two with armrests, which also conceals an illuminated locker with a rack for fishing rods.
