Wally?s 2026 Mediterranean season kicked off off the coast of Naples before continuing on to Sardinia, the Aegean Sea, and the French Riviera. More than a dozen yachts are competing in the major regattas on the calendar. A campaign that brings together Maxi, WallyRocket, and fast cruising yachts on some of Europe?s most renowned waters.

After a winter marked by Caribbean regattas, the Wally fleet has returned to the Mediterranean for a particularly busy 2026 season. Between offshore championships, inshore regattas, and superyacht gatherings, the crews will be busy with a series of events through the fall, with the new Wally Performance Trophy serving as the central theme.

La Tre Golfi kicks off the Mediterranean season

The season kicked off in May 2026 with the Tre Golfi Sailing Week, held in the Gulf of Naples and along the Sorrento coast. This event traditionally brings together several major international sailing competitions.

The Wally fleet was represented there by several iconic vessels, including the Wallycento V, Galateia, and Tilakkhana II; the Wally 94 Sensei and Astra I; and the Wallyrocket71 Django 7X.

In the 150-mile offshore race, Galateia, owned by Chris Flowers and David Leuschen, crossed the finish line in first place after a long battle with V, the Wally 100 skippered by Karel Komarek. V went on to win Division 1 of the IMA Maxi European Championship.

A WallyRocket fleet on the rise

The wallyrocket series continues to grow in prominence within the brand?s racing program. At the ORC Championship, RocketNikka, Django, and Kilara II were among the leaders throughout all eight races.

The close results among the various crews highlight the competitiveness of the fleet. RocketNikka, helmed by Roberto Lacorte, won the Wally Performance Trophy awarded at the conclusion of the Naples regatta.

The growing presence of wallyrocket51 on major European circuits is one of the highlights of the 2026 season.

Porto Cervo, the second round of the season

After Naples, all eyes turned to Porto Cervo, in Sardinia. The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta welcomed the Wally 94 Vantanera before the WallyRocket51s returned to competition at the Sardinia Cup.

This edition marked the race's return to the IRC circuit after more than a decade away. Competitors had to contend with strong gale-force winds during the 130-mile offshore course.

Despite a high dropout rate among the fleet, Django and RocketNikka completed the race and finished second and third, respectively, in the overall standings for the week.

Heading for the Cyclades and Giraglia

The rest of the schedule takes the fleet to the Aegean Sea for the Cyclades Cup, which will be held in Antiparos in mid-June 2026.

Four Wally yachts are expected to compete: the Wally 94 Vantanera, the 33-meter Wally B and Barong D, and the recently launched Wallywind110 Galma. This event maintains a more intimate format than the major European championships while offering technical courses in the waters of the Cyclades.

The season will then continue with the Loro Piana Giraglia. This offshore classic between Saint-Tropez and Genoa remains one of the must-attend events on the Mediterranean calendar.

In the Maxi class, the Wallycento V and Galateia will renew the rivalry they first displayed in Naples. The Wallyrocket51s Kilara II and Django will also be competing on this course, which is known for its often-changing conditions between the French Riviera, Corsica, and Liguria.

Saint-Tropez to wrap up the season

As is the case every year, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez will bring the summer season to a close. The 2026 edition will take place from September 26 to October 4, 2026.

The Wally fleet will be represented by its various classes, from the WallyRocket51 to the Maxi class, including the WallyNano. The event will also serve as the setting for the presentation of the season?s first Wally Performance Trophy.

With stops in Italy, Greece, and France, the 2026 Mediterranean season reaffirms the prominent role played by Wally yachts at the Mediterranean?s major regatta events. More than a dozen yachts are participating this year in a program that combines offshore racing, coastal courses, and gatherings of large sailing yachts.
