Test / Accommodation and life on board the Gran Turismo 36, ergonomics at all times

Before sailing off Port Ginesta, we study the layout of the Gran Turismo 36. The layout of the furniture studied to the centimetre gives it a rare aptitude for this size

Modern architecture

Enlarging all the exterior and interior compartments of the fittings is made possible by the design of an almost rectangular bow and a merciless cm² hunt. As you step out onto the fairly wide aft sundeck, you will notice that the outside galley is located aft, freeing up space for a beautiful L-shaped bench seat facing the U-shaped saloon. The grill is no longer under the roof and benefits from good ventilation. The saloon is very user-friendly and its facing benches still leave free circulation to get from the aft platform to the cockpit. The aft saloon backrest, mounted on stainless steel hinges, serves as a headrest for the aft sundeck, which itself covers a large storage compartment. Access to the foredeck is on each side. The side decks, not wide enough in our opinion, are protected by the high stainless steel rail.

A deckchair on the front beach

The foredeck is quite wide thanks to the shape of the bow. To secure the occupants, the deck is curved and the mattresses of the sundeck are in the shape of very comfortable tubs with adjustable headrests. This lounging area is completed with a shade cloth, a pocket to prevent your mobile phone from falling into the water and audio speakers to rock you to sleep.

Two beautiful cabins

Going below deck, there is a mini saloon lit by the companionway and a large hull porthole. On the other side an alcove galley, complementary to the outside one, will also allow to store utensils and some food. The owner's cabin at the bow is spacious and the island-shaped bed is quite wide, although a little narrow at the head. The aft cabin, closed by a door, occupies the whole width. It is very bright with portholes on each side. The storage space is a little tight for a long holiday, but for a week with the family it is sufficient. The shower room has a separate shower, also very clear thanks to the porthole in the hull. This 36 GT has all the amenities worthy of a superior model. Finally, emphasis has been placed on an optional choice of upholstery providing a cosy, contemporary and chic atmosphere on the varnished walnut woodwork.
