The Infynito 80 has a displacement weight of 83 tonnes, but is still designed for fast cruising. For this purpose, the Italian manufacturer has designed a new hull offering excellent performance, combining efficiency and fuel economy by reducing the wetted surface area.

Two engine sizes from 2 x 1200 to 2 x 1400 hp
The shipyard, in collaboration with engine manufacturer MAN, now offers a choice of two engines: 2 x 1200 hp MAN V-8, or 2 x 1400 hp MAN V-12. Two powerful engines offering Ferretti performance worthy of the name. With the standard engines (2 x 1200 hp), the boat cruises at around 15 knots, with a maximum speed of 20 knots and an economical speed of 11 knots. With the stronger engine, the Infynito cruises at an average speed of 17 knots, and is capable of reaching 24 knots at top speed, which is quite remarkable for a boat over 77 feet.

In terms of range, the "small" powerplant can cover around 380 miles at cruising speed, a figure that drops to 360 miles with the big powerplant. On the other hand, at economy speed, the two engines are equal, with a distance of 1,000 miles announced by the shipyard, which, thanks to the 8,000-liter fuel tank, opens the door to long-distance cruising. In fact, given that the water tank contains only 1,200 liters, we may have to stop and top up with fresh water before refuelling.
Solar panels and lithium batteries for on-board power
Last but not least, the engine room is very well organized, with easy access to both engine blocks, as well as to the generator, the solar energy management system and the watermaker. Good point too for the soundproofing, which is very effective, since once the door is closed, the main deck is very quiet, as are the cabins, even when the boat is underway. The only downside of our test was a slightly excessive vibration in the cockpit at 1500 rpm, but this is probably just an adjustment to be made.

As far as on-board energy is concerned, in addition to the generator, the Infynito 80 has a number of solar panels on the hard-top and a fleet of 14 lithium batteries, making the boat very independent of fossil fuels. What's more, as on the 90, the Infynito 80 is equipped with a "Hotel" mode which, particularly at anchor, redistributes energy for comfort functions, giving priority to energy from the solar panels and lithium batteries. The system optimizes the operation and distribution of electricity, enabling you to stay at anchor all night or all day with air conditioning and seakeepers, without having to call on the generator.
