With a base price of 69,200 euros, the Filanciu 650 is positioned in a hotly contested segment where compact RIBs in the 6.50 to 7-meter range compete. With its Honda BF150 engine, top-of-the-range finishes and seaworthy behavior, its price/performance ratio must be compared with the big names in the sector.

A competitive rate base

The Filanciu 650 is offered as standard with a Honda BF150 engine and a basic option package at 69,200 euros. This price includes premium upholstery, full deck equipment and a meticulous finish. Available options include an electric windlass at 1,740 euros, aft deck extensions and comfort extras such as a cockpit table that can be converted into a sundeck. Including these features, the final price can exceed 72,000 euros, which remains competitive in the segment.

Competitive comparison

In this category, four models naturally stand out as direct competitors. The Capelli Tempest 650, powered by a Yamaha 150 hp engine, retails for around 74,000 euros. It boasts a fine finish but slightly smaller sunbathing dimensions than the Filanciu.

The Zodiac Medline 6.8, another French benchmark, is priced at around 72,000 euros with a Mercury 150 hp. Very much geared to comfort at anchor, it is less dynamic when sailing in heavy chop.

The BSC 65, with its 150 hp Mercury engine, retails for 73,000 euros. Its spacious deck layout appeals to families, but its finish is more standardized than that of the Corsican model.

Finally, the Nuova Jolly Prince 22 comes in at a slightly higher level, close to 76,000 euros with a Suzuki 150 hp. It offers excellent sea-keeping, but its higher price places it above the Filanciu in terms of price/equipment ratio.

Positioning advantages of the Filanciu 650

The Filanciu 650 has a number of advantages over its rivals. Its premium finish, with caramel-colored upholstery and carbon-effect Hypalon floats, gives it a more upscale image than some models in the same segment. Its deep cockpit, designed to protect passengers during fast navigation, also gives it a significant safety edge. Last but not least, the Honda BF150 engine is distinguished by its flexibility and responsiveness, which enhance its seaworthiness. The Corsican shipyard has thus succeeded in offering a complete package which, while remaining financially competitive, stands out for its Mediterranean identity and roots.

Balanced value for money

The Filanciu's base price, which is lower than that of some competitors while offering a superior level of finish, is a decisive argument in its appeal to buyers. The investment remains contained for a boat that boasts a maximum speed of 36 knots and reasonable fuel consumption at cruising speed. For families or yachtsmen looking for a versatile RIB capable of both sporty and coastal cruising, the Filanciu's price/performance ratio makes sense.

With a starting price of 69,200 euros, the Filanciu 650 is part of a clear strategy: to offer a 6.50-meter RIB with serious seaworthiness, an attractive finish and comprehensive equipment, without breaking the psychological barrier of 75,000 euros. Compared with its Italian and French rivals, it stands out for its identity, safety-oriented design and partnership with Honda Marine. This positioning makes it a solid and attractive option for those looking for a compact but ambitious RIB.
