Test / Zar 130 Imagine : Navigation test

In this 3rd part of our test of the Zar Imagine, discover our sea trip aboard this RIB in the Bay of Cannes and the sensations offered by this sporty mega-tyre with a Mediterranean profile.

Comfort, but sport!

Although typically Mediterranean and designed for cruising with many comfort elements on board, the Zar 130 Imagine does not forget to be sporty. Our test took place in Cannes, with perfect conditions: good weather, beautiful sea. There were six of us on board, including the happy owner who finally had the opportunity to sail his boat. For the record, he already owns a Zar 95 SL and wanted an even bigger boat for day sailing.

Two times 600 horsepower to propel the beast!

Our 1,200L fuel tank was just over one-third full, or 465L. Our model was equipped with two powerful 600-horsepower Mercury V12 outboard engines, which is what it was designed for. At 10 tons, the Zar 130 Imagine needs a strong engine for a sporty program.

A smooth, fast and comfortable ride

This large semi-rigid is very stable on its hull and does not hold any surprises. The driving is safe, fluid, the passage in sea of the most pleasant. The conditions did not allow us to test this model in rough seas, so we checked the boat's good behavior by crossing the wakes formed. When turning, the list is not too pronounced and the boat does not skid too much. The Zar 130 Imagine picks up speed quickly, but evenly, without us noticing that the top speed of 54 knots is already reached at the maximum rpm of 6300. The consumption, also at its maximum, is then 391L/hour.

The lift-off time is 6.30 seconds, reached at 19 knots, around 3000 rpm. The Zar 130 Imagine remains homogeneous in its consumption until about 5500 rpm and the speed of 47 knots, with a consumption of 5.7L/mile. Its cruising speed is 36 knots, with an engine speed of 4500 rpm and a consumption of 197 L/h. It has a range of approximately 216 miles.

This data confirms the boat's luxury dayboat program, as the consumption of such a boat is quite high.
