Test / Libecciu 1000: an ergonomic, user-friendly deck layout by Fanale Marine

Designed to combine fast sailing with life on board, the Fanale Marine Libecciu 1000 boasts a dense yet functional deck layout. Two large sundecks, a living console and a modular aft saloon create a space that's both convivial and seaworthy, in keeping with the Corsican shipyard's philosophy.

A muscular, balanced figure

With a beam of almost 3.63 m, the Libecciu 1000 has a solid, seaworthy appearance. Its floats offer a rising line, visually lightening the silhouette while reinforcing the deck's protection.

The slightly raised bow provides plenty of volume above the waterline, ensuring safety in the Mediterranean chop. The overall design, by Fanale Marine, is in line with the shipyard's previous models, with a high bow and clear floats to preserve passage through the waves.

A traffic-oriented bridge plan

One of the Libecciu 1000's strong points is its ability to move freely. Despite the presence of the aluminum T-top, the gangways remain 35 cm wide, ensuring good access to the front.

The bridge is structured around three main zones:

  • the front, dedicated to sunbathing;
  • the center, with the console, cockpit and kitchen area;
  • at the rear, a modular saloon and bathing area.

This division makes it easy to move from one activity to another, without partitioning or loss of usable space.

The front sundeck: a well-sized comfort zone

The foredeck is home to a vast solarium measuring 2.54 x 2.20 m, resting on a compartmentalized trunk. The split floor makes it easy to open the hatches and gives access to a deep hold, suitable for storing both mooring equipment and on-board gear.

The stainless steel and teak dolphin winch incorporates two fixed mooring cleats, allowing easy disembarkation from the bow. Anchoring is done from the bow, with the anchor resting on an integrated davit. This simple yet robust configuration is a reminder that the Libecciu 1000 is a boat designed for frequent anchoring in exposed areas.

A spacious and functional center console

The cockpit stands out for its volume and rational layout. The console, 1.44 m high, opens to the front and houses a storage area or berth (1.75 x 1.44 m). This compartment can also accommodate an optional marine or chemical toilet.

The interior is minimalist: the thin mattress and the absence of a porthole remind us that this is above all a temporary shelter, intended for occasional rest or storage of on-board equipment. It seems utopian to want to spend a night on board.

Outside, the dashboard features two medium-sized âeuros Honda instrumentation screens for engine data and a Simrad GPS plotter for âeuros navigation, complemented by a Fusion stereo, USB sockets and a compass centered in the line of sight.

The two-seater cockpit can be used in either sitting or standing position, but the seat could do with a more ergonomic design. Nevertheless, the rider benefits from good protection thanks to the plexiglass windscreen and optional aluminum-framed T-top.

A modular, user-friendly rear lounge

The aft cockpit concentrates the boat's conviviality. The U-shaped bench seat frames a removable table and can be converted into a 2.00 x 1.32 m aft solarium. Aft of the leaning-post is a kitchenette equipped with a small sink and refrigerator, enabling full days at sea.

Under the bench seat, large lockers hold safety equipment and on-board belongings. Access to the technical hold is via a central hatch opening onto the batteries and water tank.

Well-proportioned bathing platforms

The bathing platforms on either side of the engine room provide direct access to the sea. Like the cockpit, they are covered in Cerdeck synthetic teak.

The intermediate step facilitates launching, but the lack of a central passage between the two platforms slightly limits cross-traffic.

Serious, progressive construction

The Libecciu 1000's polyester hull is hand-laminated, with longitudinal reinforcements and integrated structural bulkheads. The shipyard has opted for sturdy rather than lightweight construction, resulting in an unpowered weight of 3,400 kg.

The floats have 6 independent compartments, ensuring safety in the event of accidental deflation. The structure can also support the load of two 350 hp engines without deformation or longitudinal imbalance.

User-friendly ergonomics

The Libecciu 1000 doesn't invent new solutions, but it does manage to combine efficiency and comfort. The layout of the living areas, the height of the freeboards and the ease of movement make this an accessible boat, reassuring for families and practical for sporty sailing.
