Two choices of motorization
Offered in a standard version with two 380-horsepower Cummins engines, the Swift Trawler 48 has a price tag of 640,500 euros (excluding VAT) in October 2022. For the optional 2x425 horsepower version, the one owned by our test model, the price is 788,040 euros including VAT. The standard decoration of the 3 cabins and the bathrooms is in Alpi teak. For a finish in dosed oak, you will have to add 12,576 euros. Several upholstery options are also available, from 1,332 euros to 7,392 euros for Nubuk.
Option and finish packages for a clearer offer
To make things easier for boaters and offer them a series of options, the most commonly requested, Bénéteau is offering two types of finish: Essential and Comfort. The first one, at 40,032 euros TTC, includes, for example, heating and air conditioning provisions, a 2 kVA converter, 9-inch Raymarine screens on both helm stations, as well as the autopilot and VHF. The Comfort finish offers these same options, completed by a fresh water intake, a double deck spotlight and a 40 L flybridge refrigerator.
Three packages are also available:
- Smart Pack with flybridge T-Top and hydraulic platform at 69,696 euros TTC
- The pack Air conditioning and pre-disposition generator 230V at 43 632 euros TTC
- The electronic pack with four Raymarine 12" screens and the AIS receiver at 7,716 euros
Indispensable options for the cruise
Some options will make cruising more enjoyable, like the sunbathing mattress on the front deck from 7,044 euros or the cockpit table with its folding chairs at 3,770 euros including tax. The bow and/or stern thrusters are an option at 6,636 euros for the first and 16,116 euros for the second, not available with the maximum motorization.
In the flybridge, the electric grill kit is at 2,676 euros, and the indispensable complete mooring kit at 3,654 euros. Finally, the Raymarine rear camera is priced at 1,728 euros.
As an example, the model tested, which had the majority of these options, was listed at a price of 1,081,943 euros including tax, in October 2022.
A more upscale competitive market
In the trawler market, the Swift Trawler 48 can be compared with the Sirena 48, the smallest model in the Turkish shipyard's range, which will be launched in September 2023. Although the price of this new 15.96-meter model is not yet known, Sirena's positioning is more upscale than Bénéteau's, as evidenced by the fittings and construction method. While the hull is made of fiberglass, the superstructure will be made from hybrid fabrics incorporating carbon fiber to make it lighter. Inside, the layout seems quite similar with three cabins and a well-equipped main deck.
At Absolute, the Navetta 48 with similar dimensions, 14.93 m long and 4.67 m wide, offers a more elaborate layout and more space on board, especially in the three cabins. The standard price is 885,000 euros excluding VAT with two Volvo Penta D6-IPS650.
