Balconies to expand the cockpit while at anchor

The Galeon 420 FLY?s most distinctive feature is located at the stern. Two side sections of the bulwark fold out to extend the cockpit to the waterline. When open, they bring the total width to 5.90 m.

This layout transforms the stern into a deck area, featuring an expanded swim platform, an L-shaped bench, a folding table, and a bar cabinet. For a family that spends several hours at anchor, the difference isn?t just a matter of square meters. Movement around the boat becomes less restricted, and you can access the swim area without having to walk through the outdoor saloon past plates and towels. On board, this kind of detail quickly saves you from having to maneuver sideways.

At the port, the boat retains its original hull width. The increase in surface area is therefore primarily beneficial during port calls, without requiring a wider berth at all times. This is the key advantage of the system.

In the bow, the guest cabin also features a double bed and a bathroom. This layout is ideal for two couples or a family who want to maintain two separate bathroom areas. It helps minimize waiting times in the morning?a very real concern when four people are living on board.

DPI Shaft Line or Base?Two Approaches to Navigation

The Galeon 420 FLY will be available with two propulsion systems. The first uses DPI drive units. The second uses a traditional shaft drive system.

Adjustable rudders generally make harbor maneuvers easier when used in conjunction with a joystick. They also allow for trim adjustment and provide performance suited to planing hulls. However, their draft and exposed appendages require caution in shallow areas, waters laden with debris, and in the event of accidental groundings.

The shaft drive system uses a more traditional design, with inboard engines, shafts, drive brackets, and fixed propellers.
