The Wellcraft 355 is available at a base price of 444,240 euros (including tax) in 2022. Our test model, with a 900-horsepower Yamaha tri-motor, costs ?630,153 including VAT. This amount includes options such as a teak deck, air conditioning, premium electronics and upholstery packages, and underwater lighting.
With this Wellcraft 355, the shipyard has moved into the premium segment with a high-end price tag. Its build quality and the versatility of its program justify this price.
A market with several competitors
Opposite the Wellcraft 355, we find the Axopar and Nimbus productions, which share similarities in look and design.
The Axopar 37 XC Cross Cabin comes closest. Its level of equipment is not as extensive as that of the Wellcraft 355, but it will cost you about 260,000 euros (tax included) with 2 x 300 horsepower.
The Nimbus C11 also takes some of the DNA of the Wellcraft 355. Just as welcoming and powered by two 350 horsepower blocks, it is announced at around 550,000 euros TTC ready to go.
Benefiting from the same North American culture, the Boston Whaler 345 Conquest Pilothousse offers similar features. With a more conventional look, but with a very high degree of quality, it is available for around 790,000 euros TTC with three 350 horsepower engines.
Conclusion
The Wellcraft 355's build quality and high-end price positioning place it in an elitist segment. This is the price to pay for a boat that can be sailed all year round in all conditions.
The pilot will find real sensations at the helm, which the crew will be able to fully enjoy thanks to a high level of comfort.
Its high level of equipment and marine qualities make it extremely versatile. Whether it's coastal cruising, day trips or sport fishing, the Wellcraft 355 adapts with panache to any program.
