The HA20 was tested in interesting conditions: 20 knots of wind on the Etang de Thau, with two adults on board, and a Honda BF100 engine. An opportunity to verify the behavior of this Italian hull in demanding conditions.

Remarkable performance for its size

There are two of us on board for this cruise on the Etang de Thau. As soon as we left port, we pushed the throttle hard. The boat has reached a top speed of 32 knots, which is excellent for a RIB under six meters. At cruising speed, the HA20 cruises comfortably at around 23 knots, enabling us to cover considerable distances while maintaining reasonable fuel consumption. This power reserve is invaluable when the boat is loaded with equipment or passengers.

Reassuring marine behavior

On a windy stretch of water, the HA20's hull showed healthy, balanced behavior. The boat handles the chop without excessive slamming, and maintains a satisfactory trim. Its small size calls for careful steering, but the RIB remains safe even in gusty conditions.

The helm is precise but a little firm, due to a problem with the usuine mounting, but this fault will be corrected on subsequent models. The HA20 offers a sporty feel: with two people on board, it literally takes off, skilfully positions itself on the small chop and is a real pleasure to ride.

Crew comfort

The leaning-post is particularly useful for active navigation, helping to maintain a good position during acceleration. Honda's DF100 brings a playful character to this small hull, while maintaining reasonable fuel consumption levels.
