Test / 4XC HA20: Deck plan and fittings

The 4XC HA20 proves that a RIB under six meters can offer comfort, space and ergonomics all in one. Thanks to a rational organization and a few layout tricks, it succeeds in maximizing every square meter of deck space.

A deck layout optimized for relaxation

The bow of the boat is entirely dedicated to lounging. A 2-metre solarium allows two adults to recline comfortably, an impressive feat for a boat of this size. The stern is not to be outdone: the second sundeck, 1.50 meters long, can accommodate two additional people. These spaces are a direct response to the needs of Mediterranean and Atlantic customers, accustomed to long days at sea punctuated by sunbathing and swimming.

Storage to match

Storage volume is another strong point of the HA20. The front compartment is impressively large, with enough room for vests, bags and other gear.

The anchor locker is deep and equipped with a sturdy stainless steel davit for easy anchor handling. At the stern, a large capacity locker completes the offer and secures all onboard equipment.

Pilot station: simplicity and efficiency

The helm station remains sober but well thought-out. The dashboard is deliberately minimalist, but can incorporate Honda's digital instrumentation for a clear, modern readout of engine data.

The adjustable helm seat, designed as a leaning-post, allows several positions: sitting, semi-standing or standing, a real plus for dynamic sailing.

Ergonomics and practical details

Small details confirm the seriousness of the work:

  • many well-placed grips on the floats
  • telescopic stainless steel bathing ladder, wide and practical for boarding;
  • optional bimini to protect the cockpit.

Regrettably, access to the trunks requires removal of the cushions, which adds to the handling, but this compromise is common on compact RIBs.
