The Pirelli 47, unveiled by Tecnorib bags marks a turning point in the evolution of maxi-ribs. With a length of 14.75 m, this model is in line with the trend for large RIBs. But beyond its dimensions, it's its technical and architectural solutions that deserve the attention of yachtsmen.
A double-step hull inherited from the competition
The design of the Pirelli 47 is based on a double-ribbed hull from the Mannerfelt Design Team. This choice stems from experience in motorboat racing, where drag reduction and the quest for stability are paramount. For sailors, this hull promises high speeds and safe handling, even in rough seas. However, the question of fuel consumption and high-speed comfort remains for cruising use.
High floats as a stabilizer and aesthetic signature
The high, slender design of the flanges goes beyond the simple role of protection. When sailing fast, it acts as a stabilizer during tight turns. Placed above the waterline, it also limits hydrodynamic resistance. This element, featuring the motif inspired by Pirelli's Cinturato Blue Full Wet tire, clearly establishes the boat's sporting identity. For yachtsmen, however, its effectiveness in terms of on-board safety and ergonomics will have to be assessed.

A modular hard top to suit different programs
The main new feature of the Pirelli 47 is its hard top. Two configurations are available: an open version to maximize exterior volume, and a closed version for long crossings or harsher climates. This dual approach raises questions: a closed hard top improves protection and all-season usability, but limits the user-friendliness of the spaces. Conversely, the open version favors outdoor living to the detriment of protection.
Customizable layouts for a variety of uses
Under the hard top, owners can choose between a layout with a large U-shaped sofa or an L-shaped arrangement. At the stern, modularity allows the installation of a second sundeck, a service unit or a double sofa with table. These choices reflect the semi-rigid's evolution into a versatile unit, capable of serving as a day boat, a chase boat for a yacht, or even a coastal cruiser.

A powerful but demanding outboard motor
The model presented at Cannes receives 3 x 425 hp Mercury V10 engines, bringing total power to 1275 hp! This engine makes the Pirelli 47 one of the most powerful RIBs in its class. Such a configuration opens up new prospects in terms of top speed and responsiveness. But it also raises questions of autonomy, maintenance and fuel management, particularly for those planning long voyages.
Towards a new generation of maxi-ribs?
With the Pirelli 47, Sacs Tecnorib continues the approach initiated with the Strider, Rebel and Pirelli Speedboats ranges. This model combines elements from racing, automotive design and contemporary naval architecture.
