The DB/37 is the second model in Jeanneau's range of premium dayboats launched in 2021. With a length of just under 12 m, it takes up the concept and style of its big sister, namely a dayboat with a beautiful interior living space, but offering more than just outdoor living. Let's discover the boat's program in this first part of our test.

Offering a range of Premium dayboats

The DB range is born in 2021 with the DB - for Day Boat - 43 a premium dayboat. This DB range succeeds the former Express Cruiser Leader range, enabling the Vendée-based shipyard to maintain a dayboat range, but in a high-end segment. However, this is not Jeanneau's first attempt with DBs, since the range already existed in the 1980s.

The shipyard's stated aim is to attract owners of large Leader yachts, as well as former Leader owners. He first took time to analyze the market and this trend for large dayboats before finally taking the plunge.

A concept and design adapted to the DB/37

Less than a year after the launch of DB/43 jeanneau has launched the DB/37 the second model in the range. Although smaller, at 11.83 m, it uses exactly the same concept. The idea is to offer a full-width boat and cockpit protection with a hard-top. The hard-top supports are placed on the gunwales for greater habitability. Tilting bulwarks and a living space on the main deck, with its central galley, are also featured. The bulwarks facilitate access to the sea, particularly for the outboard version.

A walkaround deck plan that facilitates traffic flow

The walkaround deck layout, with its symmetrical side decks, makes it easy to move around the boat, while offering the safety of high bulwarks. The deck layout is flush all the way to the foredeck, which is accessed via a few steps. Conceived as a dayboat, the DB/37 nonetheless offers plenty of living space below deck, with two cabins.

Modern lines highlighted by large hull windows

The design, still by Camillo Garroni, takes its cue from the DB/43 and is instantly recognizable. The architecture is also by Michael Peters, who designed many of the Group's models. The modern, automotive style is underlined by a straight bow and a powerful hull. The hull is sculpted by the large windows. Unlike the larger model, the fiberglass construction is carried out in the shipyard's Portuguese factories, while the DB/43 is made in France.

Two engine versions

Finally, like the DB/43, the DB/37 is available in both inboard and outboard versions. The inboard version, the one we tested, features a large bathing platform at the stern.
