A new range of hybrid yachts

Seadeck, a new range from the Italian shipyard Azimut, has been designed to offer yachts that reduce CO2 emissions by 40% over a year of sailing. Three models have already been announced, the Seadeck 6, 17.25 m long with 3 cabins, the Seadeck 7, 21.88 m long, with 4 cabins and the Seadeck 8. These three models have been designed by the architect Alberto Mancini, already author of the last models of the brand, in collaboration with Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez for the design

Distinctive features and an open deck plan

These straight-bowed models will be built in carbon fiber to obtain a relatively light weight estimate. They are distinguished by their dynamic lines, their large hull glazing, and their fully glazed superstructure protected by a hard-top. Another new feature is a large cockpit called "Fun Island" that can be fully connected to the interior once the windows are lowered. Equipped with tilting bulwarks, the cockpit with its large platform where a staircase leading to the sea is hidden, offers an imposing sunbathing area as well as a saloon opposite. The idea is to maximize this link to nature with an open design. Inside, the color scheme is based on neutral and light tones to optimize luminosity.

Solutions to reduce CO2 emissions

The three models will be equipped with Volvo IPS engines with maximum speeds of around 35 knots. The shipyard indicates nevertheless to equip these boats with hybrid engines without giving more details. The roof covered with solar panels will be used to power the onboard systems. The shipyard also indicates using recycled and recyclable materials for the finishes of the range. For example, the teak should be replaced by cork.
