Test / Fanale Libecciu 1000, a Corsican signature for a Mediterranean RIB

The Libecciu 1000 proudly displays its Corsican origin. From its name, that of a local wind, to its assembly, the Libecciu comes from the island of beauty. A 10-meter semi-rigid that has nothing to be ashamed of compared to the Italian competition. 1st part of our test.

The Libecciu is a southwest wind that hits Italy and Corsica. This is the name that the Fanale Marine shipyard has given to its latest model: the Libecciu 1000. Based in Corsica, this RIB manufacturer has been producing its boats since 2009.

6 models from 6 to 10 m

The range of boats starts at 5.70 m and ends with the flagship tested here, which measures 10 m. The range is available in 6 sizes, with the addition of the 900, which is offered with or without cabin. Aimed at a Mediterranean clientele, these boats are characterized by their high-end positioning. The finishes, as well as the materials, including the hypalon which constitutes the envelope of all the sterns, show the will of the shipyard to propose a well accomplished and charming product.

A 10 m day boat

As is often the case in the Mediterranean, these boats are primarily designed for day trips, often with a family crew. Thus, we find the aft saloon both secure during navigation and comfortable at anchor or during a meal, the numerous sunbathing areas, as well as the possibility to equip oneself with a toilet in the console.

XXL habitability

The habitability is also in the spotlight. The boats have a large capacity in terms of number of crew members and remain wide enough to satisfy everyone. However, the aggressive and streamlined design is not left to chance and the Fanale boats all have a perfect look.

The flagship

The Libecciu 1000, each Fanale has its name in addition to its size, is no exception to the rule. This semi-rigid boat of 10 m - 9.93 m precisely - is perfectly adapted to its use. Very wide, stable, it has a nice V under the hull to support the short chop that can arise in the Mediterranean afternoons. The largest model in the range, it is equipped with a dual outboard motor that gives it great performance.

A Mediterranean construction

Fanale Marine, in spite of its base line "The Corsican boat", subcontracts the construction of its polyester hulls in Sicily, as well as the cutting of its bladders in Italy. The final assembly is done in Corsica, on the west coast, near Ajaccio.
