Test / Pricing and alternatives of the Flyer 10, a versatility that makes it more than a Sundeck

The Flyer 10 is a fast open Sundeck that can play the card of a small cruise for the weekend. Its price is attractive in this category.

A competitive basic rate

It's a great opportunity that this Flyer 10. Halfway between a cabin cruiser and an open walkaround, this open Sundeck hides many assets to be traded by its XXL deck plan which can accommodate more than ten people without any discomfort and its very interesting interior habitability with four berths in two separate cabins. Its basic price without engine is 96,100 euros HT and it is necessary to add about 70,000 euros HT for a pair of 350 HP Suzuki V6 twin propeller engines. This motorization is really efficient, because the torque provided by the rotation and counter-rotation system of the propellers gives strong sensations during acceleration.

Options for spending time on board

At this basic rate, the boat is not ready to sail. You have to add comfort packs, navigation with Garmin electronics and also an elegance pack with beautiful two-tone upholstery. A nice standing barbecue on the back deck is the bare minimum for a weekend away. Air conditioning can be appreciated as well as electric hobs and an extra fridge, but then you won't have to do without the 3.5 kW generator. A bimini or even a rigid hard-top is also available. A well-equipped boat like the one in our test easily exceeds 200,000 euros excluding VAT.

What about the competition?

It goes without saying that the open outboard segment is quite busy in the 6 to 8 metre sizes. But in this fateful 10-metre size, there are not many competitors with outboard engines. The Flyer 10 is doing very well with its versatility that allows it to play the small cruiser of a few days and the most immediate threat comes from Jeanneau with its new Leader 10.50 WA . It is not a pure Sundeck, but its modularity and opening bulwark make it, for a very similar price, the most qualified of the opponents. At Regal the new 33 AFTER-SALES SERVICE is also very close in philosophy, but both remain less livable than the Flyer 10, champion on this point. By moving up a little more in range, the Searay SLX 350 Outbord is a nice alternative, but we're not at the same rate anymore.
