Quicksilver now offers a revisited version of its 675 Pilothouse, a model launched in 2014. This new Explorer limited series, with its striking colours, sporty fishing design and numerous standard features, is well worth a visit.

A sporty design boat with a lot of standard equipment

The 675 Pilothouse Explorer is an upgraded version - and only available as a limited edition for early 2018 - of the existing model in Quicksilver's wheelhouse range. " We've redesigned the 675 Pilothouse to offer an Explorer version, with an eye-catching, sporty design that you don't see much of on this type of unit. We wanted a slightly new, eye-catching boat." explains Sylvain Perret, Marketing and Product Manager of the brand. With its grey and apple green design, but also its side balconies and black roof supports, the helmsman is an eye-catcher.

Intended for fishing - it is equipped as standard with many dedicated facilities - it is nevertheless suitable for family outings. "We've focused on fishing, but we also present her as a boat for cruising, thanks in particular to her convivial saloon in the cockpit, easy to install with a removable table, or to her double berth in the wheelhouse." details Sylvain.

On board, most of the equipment is offered as standard: fender doors on the balconies (a clever feature found on other models), toilet, fishing equipment, galley, large storage spaces in the cockpit or under the berth, bathing platforms... There is also a second cockpit, usually offered as an option. "The 675 Pilothouse Explorer is a very complete boat, ready to sail, for which we offer very few options and always at an attractive price." explains Sylvain. Indeed, only four options are proposed:

  • Dark grey flexi-teak flooring
  • Simrad 7" GPS/fishfinder and stereo kit for the second cockpit
  • Heating (diesel)
  • The electric bow windlass

For its size - 6.55 m long - the 675 Pilothouse has a rather pleasant wheelhouse, with good visibility thanks to its 360° glazing and natural ventilation (aft door, opening starboard glazing). You can move around on board in complete safety with well-protected gangways with high freeboards and a large forward balcony. Certain finishes could be more refined in the cabin, but with the plethora of standard equipment and good value for money, the 675 Pilothouse Explorer is a perfect match for its programme.

A fishing boat

As part of Quicksilver's commitment to offering a boat with an attractive price/quality ratio, the 675 Pilothouse Explorer comes with a wide range of fishing equipment as standard. Thus, in the cockpit, everything has been designed for fishing with storage for 3 fishing rods in the starboard bulwark, 8 rod holders (4 of which are on the wheelhouse cap), a livewell, two fish tanks (one of which has a water drainage system), a rinsing hose and a cutting table.

But also a family boat

Although equipped for fishing, the Capture 675 Pilothouse Explorer is also ideal for family outings. With two folding bench seats (aft and port) and the addition of a picnic table, the cockpit transforms into a convivial dining area.

The wheelhouse has a galley with a sink, portable stove and fridge and a double bench seat (under which is a large storage locker) on the starboard aft. The starboard helm station is standard equipped with all necessary electronics (7" Simrad GPS/fishfinder, activ trim, stereo, etc.) and has pilot and co-pilot bucket seats with fold-up seats.

Marine toilets (hidden in a sleeping head locker) and a double berth (with the addition of extra cushions) complete the wheelhouse facilities.

The helmsman is available with two engines (as opposed to 3 for the classic version), in 115 or 150 HP Mercury outboard.

A limited edition?

"This year, we launched the 675 Pilothouse Explorer in a limited edition to shine the spotlight on the 675 Pilothouse launched a few years ago. At the 2017 Paris Motor Show, for its launch, we had positive reactions and very good feedback and orders. If the buzz continues and this model finds its audience, we may consider keeping it in the range" concludes Sylavin.
