45 legal files to know everything about yachting law

In December 2014, Legisplaisance, the law and pleasure association, launched the Droit de la Plaisance, a legal guide to understanding the rules of maritime law. Today, the association publishes 45 files in digital format.

After the release of Le Droit de la Plaisance last December, Legiplaisance now offers 45 legal files in digital format. Boaters will no longer need to purchase the complete guide to obtain information on a particular subject. All you have to do is buy the desired card(s) via the association's website.

On the other hand, this digital format makes it easier to update the files when there is a reform. This is already the case for some of them, which have undergone some modifications. The layout has also been reworked to offer a more attractive, clearer and streamlined version.

A new edition of the Droit de la Plaisance is not planned at the moment "Perhaps in five years, when there are new laws and reforms" explains Jérôme Heilikman, president of the Legiplaisance association. So if you want to get the latest updates, you will need to invest in digital cards.

45 legal fact sheets covering major nautical topics

Today, 45 fact sheets are available, divided into 11 major themes. Each record is between 25 and 35 pages long and contains a summary of the subject, a summary, definitions of technical words used and a bibliography (if applicable). They have been written by recognized professionals (university professors, lawyers, jurists, maritime and institutional experts) and are intended for pleasure boaters, but also boating professionals.

For example, boaters will be more concerned with the sale of the vessel, rental for boaters and hidden defects. Here, the texts are simple and illustrated by jurisprudences: how did the yachtsman who had the same problem as me?

Other sheets, such as the one on the theme of port service vessels is very specific and is intended more for professionals. Just like the one on the import/export of ships, which has two levels of reading, with boxes for those who want very specific elements.

Whereas in the reference work, there were 50 files, the last five, concerning the right of pleasure abroad, were synthesized in only one file. In the future, new topics may be added to the proposed panel.

The card can be bought individually or in packages, at the price of 1 ? for members and 2 ? for non-members. On the page dedicated to the legal files, an insert will indicate the available updates as well as the last put on line.

Finally there is no real novelty for the owners of the Right of the Piacenza since these sheets come from the guide. However, boaters who were hesitant to buy the book can now select only what interests them
