In ILCA, Louise fights on, JB bids farewell to his medal hopes

Since the start of her first Olympic Games, Louise Cervera has demonstrated her skills in this highly competitive series. After finishing 18th in the first race of the day, she bounced back to claim a podium place in the second heat. This 3rd place now places her 7th in the provisional overall standings, with only two races remaining before the Medal Race.
It was a more difficult day for Jean-Baptise Bernaz. In particularly difficult conditions, with chop, waves and numerous wind variations, the Frenchman was unable to find the solutions needed to position himself among the leaders in the day's two races, which he finished in 16th and 30th place. Ranked 12th overall before the final day of qualifying, JB will be doing his utmost to improve his ranking and conclude his home Games on a more positive note.
In the Nacra, Tim and Lou are astonishing in their first Olympic Games

They showed their ability to withstand the pressure throughout the day, despite the demanding conditions for their bodies on these particularly physical flying multihulls. Tim Mourniac and Lou Berthomieu proved their solidity on their second day of competition. For their first Olympic Games, the young Frenchmen took 5th, 7th and 4th places, and competed with the best in a series dominated by the Italian favorites, who won all three of the day's races. Very consistent, the French are now in 7th place, 7 points from the podium.
In the 470, Clément and Camille move up in the overall rankings

Camille Lecointre and Jérémie Mion continued their progress on Sunday with two 5th-place finishes in the day's races. As on the previous day, they had to draw on their mental resources to overcome several difficulties before making another remarkable comeback. They now occupy 5th position in the provisional overall rankings, halfway through their Olympic competition.
Laurianne and Axel kite at over 30 knots

They were eagerly awaited, and the cheers on Roucas Blanc beach on Sunday confirmed it: the kitesurfers got off to a good start in their Olympic competition, the first for this series, which will be for both men and women. Conditions were difficult on their first day, with wide variations in wind and complicated seas. There were numerous trips to the beach to change equipment. At the end of the first day, the density of competition at the highest level was striking, for both women and men. Lauriane Nolot had a solid first Olympic day and was in the lead after the day's 4 races. However, her main British rival, Eleanor Aldridge, is level on points with her, and the competition promises to be intense for the rest of the day.

Among the men, speeds close to 35 knots were recorded. The top 20 kitefoilers were present, which was reflected on the water with numerous tense situations, falls, and a very tight provisional overall ranking, where the top 7 are grouped in just over 10 points. Winner of the last race of the day, Axel Mazella is currently in 7th position and has good prospects for the rest of the competition.
