A first medal for France in sailing
Sarah Steyaert, World Champion in single-handed dinghy sailing in 2008, and Charline Picon, Olympic Champion in Rio in 2016 and silver medallist in Tokyo in 2021 in RS:X, won the bronze medal in 49er FX on August 2, 2024, behind the Swedes, who took silver, and the Dutch, who won gold.
A new partner for the America's Cup
ACCIONA Energía has announced an agreement with America's Cup to Event to become the official energy partner of the 37th America's Cup Louis Vuitton, to be held in Barcelona between August and October 2024. As part of this strategic collaboration, ACCIONA Energía will sponsor the Event, the fleet of four hydrogen-powered foiling chase boats, which will run on green hydrogen for the first time in the competition's history.

After a fierce battle in very light winds, Victor Le Pape crossed the finish line of the 250-nautical-mile Fig'Armor course at around 3 a.m. last night. 16 Figaro racers were competing in this final single-handed preparatory event before the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec.

Tour du Finistère Sailing Race kicks off
The 38th edition of the Tour du Finistère sailing race got underway on Monday July 29. this morning, 84 competitors left the Port du Bloscon in Roscoff for Aber Wrac'h, the first stopover on this 2024 "Tourduf". The start was given between 9:30 and 10 a.m. with a 10-knot wind from the northeast and bright sunshine. The first competitors arrived in Aber Wrac'h at around 4pm. The first to arrive in real time was n°71 Glaz - Crédit Agricole, arriving at 15h58min 03sec.
The 2nd leg towards Albert Ildut saw N°96 Codiam cross the finish line first.
On July 31st, the 84 boats taking part in the Tour du Finistère à la Voile left Lanildut this morning, bound for Camaret-sur-Mer. In first place was N°48, Clair de Lune.
Techno293 and âeurosâeurosTechno293 Plus World Championships draw to a close
The Techno293 and âeurosâeurosTechno293 Plus World Championships came to a successful close in Balatonföldvár, Hungary, from July 20 to 28, 2024. This prestigious windsurfing event brought together 340 competitors from 18 countries on three continents, showcasing extraordinary talent and fierce competition. All 15 scheduled races were completed.
Among the outstanding performances, Greece's Danai Anagnostou emerged as a dominant force in the U17 girls' category, winning 9 out of 15 races to secure the world title.
The championship was marked by outstanding performances, particularly from Greek and Spanish competitors. In the boys' under-17 category, Greece celebrated a full podium. Similarly, Spain showed its prowess by finishing on the full podium in the girls' under-15 race and in the general under-13 category.
At the awards ceremony, the loudest applause was reserved for Hungary's Bori Bósza, bronze medallist in the U19 age group, who was spectacularly carried on a surfboard by her teammates.

The podiums of the Les Sables âeuros Les Açores âeuros Les Sables unveiled
On July 27, 2024, Romain Van Enis crossed the finish line of the 1st stage in 1st position among the protos at 12h13min03s (French time). The Be Sailing skipper took 7 days, 23 hours 13 minutes 03 seconds to complete the 1st stage at an average speed of 6.65 knots. Alexandre Demange (1048 âeuros DMG MORI Sailing Academy 2) and Marie Gendron (1050 âeuros Léa Nature) completed the podium. These three hardly left each other's side during the race, except at the end, when they landed on the first islands of the Portuguese archipelago. One opted for a northerly course, the other two for a southerly one. In the end, they all arrived in less than five hours, scoring valuable points before the return leg.
In the series, Antonin Chapot crossed the finish line of the 1st stage in 1st position on Sunday July 28 at 9:22:21 (French time). It took the skipper 8 days, 20 hours 02 minutes 21 seconds to complete the 1st stage at an average speed of 6 knots. With a near-perfect trajectory after passing the Spanish north-western tip, the skipper undeniably struck a blow, completing the 1,270 miles of this first leg with a lead of more than 13 hours over his closest pursuers, Cédric Marc (1025 âeuros Casper) and Blaise Ribon (1040 âeuros Corto), who were not necessarily expected to be in such a good position either.
