Second overall in 49er FX

In a light southwesterly flow at 5-6 knots, the 49er FX crews were able to complete almost three heats. Boosted by the cheers of the public, the French crew quickly got into their stride and showed great regularity, with three heats finished in 2nd place e place. Proof of the very high level of the circuit, the Dutch Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz slammed two rounds of 1, and finished first of the day. Only one point separates the French from the Dutch in the overall standings.
Third place went to German duo Marla Bergmann and Hanna While.
A complex day in the 49er

For Erwan Fisher and Clément Pequin, the wait was longer, as the 49er circuit was less windy than the FX circuit. After a 7th place finish and a failure on the 2 e round, the duo regained their confidence and claimed a fine 2nd place e place on the final run of the day. They finished in 6th place e place. A good omen for the days ahead.
Conditions too light for iQFoil takeoff
The wind played with the windsurfers' nerves, as none of the races could be run. For this first iQFoil regatta at an Olympic regatta, the wind wasn't with us. No race, no ranking. Athletes had to race a slalom course.

The cheers of the public, who braved the heat to come and support the French team, helped the athletes to combat the heat, which is a regular occurrence in Marseille in midsummer.
The wind will continue to play tricks on us over the coming days. A light thermal should liven up the water at the start of the week, before the Mistral comes to play the spoilsport at the end of the week.
