A hybrid yacht to reduce CO2 emissions
The Seadeck 6 is the first yacht in Azimut's Seadeck series, the manufacturer's new range of low-emission, energy-efficient yachts. The Seadeck range is claimed to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40%, over one year of average use, compared with other yachts of the same size.
Intensive use of carbon to reduce weight
To achieve this, Azimut has combined weight reduction and the latest hull design with electrification technologies. Applying the knowledge accumulated by the R&D department to maximize carbon fiber content, Azimut laminates 40% of the Seadeck 6's surface with this lighter material: superstructure, coachroof, tilting bulwarks, bathing platform and most of the main deck from the central saloon to the stern, including the "Fun Island" in the cockpit. The boat's weight is thus optimized at 27.6 tons for a 17.50 m boat with a 5.05 m beam. Logically, this should reduce fuel consumption.

A hull that glides faster to reduce drag
The boat's hull was developed by the Azimut Benetti Group's R&D department in collaboration with Names, to maximize the Seadeck 6's efficiency at cruising speed. Cruising speed is announced at 24 knots, compared with 33 knots for the maximum. Compared with standard planing hulls, the Seadeck 6's hull is wider at the stern and more streamlined at the bow. The boat glides earlier, reducing drag at lower speeds. This solution also extends the speed range at which the Seadeck 6 can be sailed efficiently, while guaranteeing a smooth, enjoyable ride. The 3 Volvo IPS 500 engines, each rated at 380 hp as standard, can be replaced by a more powerful 3x480 hp version.

Two hybridization systems for independent living
The Seadeck series is the first hybrid yacht series offering different solutions to meet individual customer needs, with a Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode or a Full-Hybrid System.
The first Seadeck 6 model introduces an innovative zero-emission system at anchor, sailing without a generator, with a view to reducing on-board consumption. This system, dubbed Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode a 42 kWh lithium battery pack and an alternator connected to one of the three engines are the basis of the "powerboat" concept. At anchor, depending on weather conditions, autonomy can reach up to 4 h during the day and 8 h at night. When sailing, the generator can remain switched off for up to 8 hours, despite the stabilizer and air conditioning being in operation. The Seadeck 6 can also be fitted with the Full-Hybrid system, while its big brother, the Seadeck 7, will be launched directly on the market with this solution in September 2024.

Alternatives to conventional materials
With a view to a less "polluting" boat, the yard replaces typical materials with sustainable alternatives of natural or recycled origin wherever possible. For example, cork replaces teak to provide a natural and sustainable deck solution. On the lower deck, the carpet is made from reused silk, which can be recycled several times over.
Finally, in the quest for sustainable alternatives, 30% of the Seadeck 6's structure is also made from R-PET, which represents around 15,000 recycled plastic bottles, replacing traditional PVC.

A luxurious design boat for long family cruises
Alberto Mancini, responsible for the evolution of Azimut's DNA, collaborated with interior designers Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez to create the on-board environments. The stern of the Seadeck 6 was re-imagined and christened "Fun Island", so that guests could find themselves surrounded by the sea, particularly with the tilting bulwarks. The designers also wanted to ensure continuity between the exterior and interior spaces. Inside, the trio chose to emphasize the interplay of light and shadow, opting for ribbed oak wood, a material that won't scratch and lasts longer. On the ceiling, the brise-soleil creates patterns of light and shadow.
Seadeck 6 is designed to accommodate up to six people on board in three guest cabins for long family cruises, and includes a crew cabin for service.
