Charlie Dalin forfeits on the Imoca MACIF Santé Prévoyance
The skipper of the Imoca MACIF Santé Prévoyance has announced his withdrawal from the Transat Jacques Vabre for medical reasons. He and co-skipper Pascal Bidégorry will still cross the start line, but will return to the port of Le Havre.
Middle Sea Race: Alexia Barrier wins in real time on Limosa

Alexia Barrier and her crew have won the Middle Sea race, the famous Mediterranean event, in real time . In the monohull class, the Wally 93 Bullitt, skippered by Andrea Recordati, was the winner.
No load-bearing rudder planes in the IMOCA class
In the run-up to the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre Normandie Le Havre, during a general meeting, the IMOCA Class has decided not to adopt "T" shaped rudders and voted almost unanimously in favor of implementing new regulations to limit CO2 emissions from boat building.

La 2 e stage of the Boulangère Mini Transat will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The 88 skippers will head for Saint-François, Guadeloupe, from the Canaries, with 2700 miles to cover.
Maxime Nocher and Poema Newland, French Kitefoil Open Champions 2023

After winning all the races except one, which was not run, Maxime Nocher secured the title of Champion de France 2023 with a comfortable lead over Théo de Ramecourt, who finished in second place. Poema Newland also had an excellent second day, maintaining her position among the top five men to become French Champion, ahead of Héloise Pégourié, the reigning U21 European Champion.
Phil Sharp's IMOCA launched

Phil Sharp launched his Manuard design in Nantes. The third IMOCA built by the Black Pepper Yacht yard, OceansLab Innovations has no fossil fuels on board. Phil Sharp plans to compete in the single-handed transatlantic qualifier Le Retour la Base, which sets off from the West Indies on November 26.
Kevin Escoffier suspended for 18 months

Sailor Kevin Escoffier has been handed an 18-month suspension by the French Sailing Federation's disciplinary committee. This decision follows his hearing some two weeks ago, concerning allegations of inappropriate behavior towards a female member of the Holcim-PRB team's communications staff. The skipper has appealed against this decision, as has the French Sailing Federation, which felt that its own disciplinary committee had not been severe enough.
