A town that has won the Cup on several occasions

Auckland has hosted the America's Cup on three previous occasions, including the 30th, 31st and 36th editions. Its experience and infrastructure dedicated to sailing make it a prime candidate for the 38th edition. Nick Hill, Chief Executive of T?taki Auckland Unlimited, Auckland's economic development agency, confirmed that the city is in discussions with Emirates Team New Zealand to host the competition again.
The advantages of returning to Auckland

Hosting the America's Cup in Auckland would offer many advantages. The city boasts recognized expertise in the organization of major nautical events, as well as an excellent infrastructure. In addition, the economic, tourism and social spin-offs would be significant for the region and the country as a whole. The technological advances developed during previous editions have also had positive repercussions on other sectors, such as the design of electric foil ferries and graphic animation.
Other candidate cities

In addition to Auckland, other cities have expressed interest in hosting the 38th America's Cup. Valencia, Spain, which previously hosted the event in 2007 and 2010, is mentioned among the potential host cities. Discussions are also underway with cities in the Middle East, reflecting the global appeal of this prestigious competition. Ortisder, Rio has also expressed an interest, but does not have the infrastructure to host such an event.
Next steps and upcoming decisions

The final decision on the host city for the 38th America's Cup is expected to be announced by June 2025. The organizers will evaluate the various bids according to criteria such as available infrastructure, financial commitment and support for participating teams.
