Alexis Thomas wins the Solo Guy Cotten 2025
At the end of the three legs of this 49th edition of the Solo Guy Cotten, Alexis Thomas (Wings of the Ocean) claimed his first victory on the Figaro circuit, thanks to his unfailing consistency. Although he didn't win the main race, he was able to pull out all the stops to win the provisional overall classification.
On the 270-mile course, Alexis Loison (Groupe Réel) crossed the line in the lead, ahead of Jules Ducelier (Région Normandie) and Tom Goron (Figaro Libre), but could be downgraded due to an incursion into the forbidden zone, like several other competitors. In the rookie class, Hugo Cardon scored a clear victory, winning three legs. Final verdict expected after jury deliberations.
The McIntyre Mini Globe Race begins its second leg: 7,200 miles to Fiji
On March 25, the McIntyre Mini Globe Race fleet set off on the longest leg of this single-handed round-the-world race aboard 5.80 m plywood mini-sailboats: 7,200 miles from Panama to the marina in Vuda, Fiji. An unprecedented logistical feat enabled the 15 ALMA Globe 580 boats to be transferred by road from the Atlantic to the Pacific, a first in the history of ocean racing.
Three stopovers are planned: Marquesas, Tahiti and Tonga. Sailing without assistance and with only celestial navigation to help them, the sailors face numerous technical and meteorological challenges. An extreme and human adventure, to be followed right up to the finish at the end of June.
The Paprec 600 Saint-Tropez returns from May 19 to 24, 2025 with a promising line-up
The 3rd edition of the Paprec 600 Saint-Tropez will set off on May 19, 2025 for a non-stop 600-nautical-mile course in the Mediterranean, bringing together IMOCA, Class40, Figaro and IRC yachts, solo, duo or crew. This strategic and demanding race, now supported by Paprec, has established itself as a benchmark in the Mediterranean offshore landscape.
Nearly 30 boats have already pre-registered, including several well-known skippers. The event will count towards the Mediterranean Offshore IRC Championship and serve as a qualifier for other major offshore races. An event to follow closely, both at sea and on land.

Isabelle Joschke ends her career, MACSF continues the adventure until 2028
After more than 20 years of ocean racing, Isabelle Joschke announces her sporting retirement. At the age of 47, the yachtswoman is taking her leave after two Vendée Globe races, seven transatlantic crossings and a wonderful six-year adventure with MACSF, hailing a partnership rich in emotion and shared values.
At the same time, MACSF confirms its ongoing commitment to sailing, and is preparing a new IMOCA project for the Vendée Globe 2028. A new chapter opens, in the continuity of this human and sporting adventure.

Banque Populaire announces the extension of its historic commitment to sailing and surfing until 2029, on the eve of its 40-year partnership with ocean racing. The shipowner will support Loïs Berrehar for the Vendée Globe 2028 with a new IMOCA, while continuing its ambitious Ultim program with Armel Le Cléac'h aboard the Maxi Banque Populaire XI.
As a major partner of the French Sailing and Surfing Federations, the bank also reaffirms its support for sport for all, the Olympic legacy and the preservation of aquatic environments. It continues its sponsorship of the Association Éric Tabarly, helping to keep France's maritime heritage alive.
Vendée Globe 2024: a record 10th edition for an exceptional race
The 10th edition of the Vendée Globe comes to a close on a historic note, marked by the stunning victory of Charlie Dalin, the new 64-day event record-holder. With an unprecedented sporting level, an ever-growing public (2.45 million visitors) and a sharp increase in worldwide media coverage, the race confirms its status as a global event.
The competition has also taken a step forward on the environmental front, with concrete actions to protect the oceans, while continuing its educational and popular mission. Rendezvous on May 10 in Les Sables-d'Olonne for a spectacular closing ceremony.
Trofeo Princesa Sofia 2025: Team France begins a new Olympiad in Palma
From April 1 to 8, 2025, the Trofeo Princesa Sofia will kick off the international Olympic sailing season in Palma de Mallorca. This first leg of the Sailing Grand Slam sets the tone for a new Olympiad on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
With 45 athletes competing in the 10 Olympic series, the French team is starting this new cycle under a new organization, orchestrated by Guillaume Chiellino, with a duo at the head of the coaching team: Franck Citeau (performance) and Loïc Billon (French team). The aim is to nurture a new generation of talent and take France to the top of the world rankings this season.

La 40' Malouine - La Trinquette returns to Saint-Malo from September 11 to 14, 2025
The 40' Malouine - La Trinquette will celebrate its 5th edition from September 11 to 14, 2025 in Saint-Malo. Reserved for Class40s and organized by the SNBSM, the race will become even more firmly rooted in the local nautical landscape thanks to the arrival of La Trinquette from the Yacht Club Saint-Malo as title partner.
On the program: a 24-hour double-handed offshore race to the Channel Islands, followed by regattas in the bay during the LodiGroup Trophy. A combination of sporting performance and onshore conviviality, the event promises to be a must-attend in the autumn nautical season, just before the major transatlantic races at the end of the year.
SailGP: tickets for Saint-Tropez and Geneva to open soon
The Rolex SailGP Championship returns to Europe this summer with two eagerly-awaited stops in Saint-Tropez (September 12-13) and Geneva (September 20-21). Ticketing will open on March 4 and 28 respectively, with priority access offered two days before each date.
New features include premium experiences from Nikki Beach in Saint-Tropez and La Folie Douce in Geneva, combining nautical spectacle with a festive atmosphere on land. Spectators will be able to experience up close the intensity of F50 regattas flying at over 100 km/h, in a spectacular "nautical stadium" format.

The 9th edition of the Foils Journées de l'ENVSN-Baie de Quiberon will be held from March 28 to 30, 2025, mixing equipment tests, competitions, initiations and discovery of the establishment. This year, the event will be sponsored by local Tim Mourniac, a member of the French Olympic sailing team and 5th at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the Nacra 17.

Yann Château takes the helm of Tour Voile 2025
The Tour Voile 2025, whose notice of race has just been published, will take place from June 25 to July 13 on the Atlantic and English Channel coasts. This 46th edition marks the arrival of Yann Château as Race Director. A well-known figure in ocean racing and current director of La Solitaire du Figaro, he will put his expertise at the service of an event that is increasingly technical, committed and focused on training.
With its mixed crews, made up of at least one woman and two young people under 26, the Tour Voile continues its mission as a springboard to the elite of ocean racing. True to the Figaro Beneteau spirit, the event once again promises to be a benchmark in terms of gender diversity, transmission and performance.

SailGP San Francisco: Spain wins, Australia suffers spectacular incident
The Spain SailGP Team claimed a second consecutive victory in San Francisco, beating Canada and France in a thrilling final. The Australian team, previously in a strong position, was forced to retire after an impressive wing collapse on its F50 at the start of the seventh race. No injuries were reported, but the incident, the cause of which remains undetermined, left a lasting impression. Spain thus becomes the fifth winner in as many events this season. Next event: Rio de Janeiro, May 3-4.
