Test at maximum power
It is in La Rochelle, during the Grand Pavois, that we had the opportunity to test the Emili 5.90. Our model was equipped with a Tohatsu outboard engine of 150 horsepower, its maximum power. The importer, Bateau-direct, nevertheless recommends a 115 horsepower engine, sufficient for the size of the hull.

A good marine behaviour
If the sky was mixed, alternating clouds and sunshine, the sea showed a light chop, with a west north-west wind of 7 knots. Despite its size of 5.95 m, the Emili 5.90 with its medium V-shaped bow and its flared prow goes through the sea well. The navigation is comfortable and the passage in the waves without jolt. The boat responds well to turns, during which the heel is somewhat pronounced. The ride is pleasant. At the wheel, the most comfortable position is sitting. Standing up, it is difficult to get a good grip and you find yourself in close proximity to the console handrail. A shock can quickly happen.
When sailing, the boat gets a little wet when you are in the cockpit, but is still pleasant.

A powerful and fast model
For our test, we were 3 people on board and the 95 L tank was full at 88 L. As our model is not equipped with a fuel gauge, we were not able to take instantaneous consumption readings, but only speed measurements. The Emili 5.90 lifts off the ground in only 3 seconds, at about 3,000 rpm and reaches 20 knots in 6 seconds. We took 35 knots at top speed, at 5,500 rpm. We tried to push our test model a bit more, but by 5,800 rpm, the propeller was ventilating. We estimate that the cruising speed is between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm for a speed of 20 to 24 knots.
The Emili 5.90 is a high performance and very playful boat, ideal to reach an anchorage quickly or to have fun while practicing water sports.
