Test / Pricing and alternatives of the Aquila 36, very playful and unstoppable equipment

The Aquila 36 is a power cat that brings a little freshness to the day boat and cabin-cruiser market thanks to the great flexibility of its finishes.

Day boat, in basic configuration

This 36' brings a much awaited freshness and above all very heterogeneous capacities to please different types of users and programs. Whether you want to go for a trip with 20 people on board, go diving on the reef or go trolling, you can even do all three, if you have the space to store the interchangeable aft cockpit modules. The basic version is offered at $390,727 excluding VAT with 2 x 300 hp Mercury Verado black. The standard equipment includes only seats on deck, but electric toilets in the washrooms.

Configure your boat according to the program

You can enjoy a good barbecue with friends at the most pleasant anchorage since the draught is only 60 cm. But for this you will have to go through the options catalogue which will allow you to equip your boat according to your programme. Chest for fishing or scuba diving, barbecue, cold tank, everything is possible. The price of our trial version was $501,900 ex works in Shanghai. In this configuration, the integral windscreen allows beautiful navigations. You can also choose the Cruiser version with the rear of the roof closed by a bay window. With a heater, it is then possible to make beautiful cruises in half season in our temperate regions.

What about the competition?

On the monohull market for cabin cruisers and day boats, there is a plethora of products on offer. If we take the example of a Grand Tourismo 36, which can be equipped with 350 hp outboard engines, the interior habitability will be more interesting, but without any comparison with the catamaran at deck level. In the case of a Fjord 36, it is of course the opposite. It's difficult to make a comparison with this power cat, which, what's more, can take on the role of these two monohulls through the interplay of its options. Only the width of the berth can be an argument in favour of the monohulls. On the catamaran side, the Aventura 10 Power This model, also equipped with a powerful outboard engine, is a more cruise-oriented alternative with much more interior space and three or four double cabins.

It is safe to assume that Aquila will play a leading role in the near future, given the modularity of its models. Dream Yacht Charter, which has clearly identified these qualities, has ordered numerous models and has taken over distribution for France with its Dream Yachts Sales brand.
