The largest model in the range
The Neapolitan shipyard Evo Yachts has just unveiled its latest and largest model ever produced, the Evo R6 . This walk-around deck plan yacht is 58 feet long compared to the R4 (ex-Evo 43) which was 13 m long. This new model incorporates the characteristics of the convertible boat brand, particularly the extensible bulwarks.
Two ranges
With the launch of the Evo T2 in June 2019, Evo Yachts decided to rename its models for greater readability. Thus, we find the T range (for tender) and the R range for daycruiser models. That's how Evo 43 was renamed Evo R4.
A preserved DNA
No changes on the Evo R6, except for a new bulwark deployment system, for more safety. A wicket door has also appeared and allows - when the bulwarks are closed - to secure the cockpit. It should be noted that it is also possible to sail with the bulwarks deployed up to about 15 knots.
The shipyard has retained the characteristics that have made it successful: clean and clean exterior lines, a vertical bow, a beautiful freeboard height, elegant finishes and above all high quality. The boat's design is modern and the sporty silhouette is easily recognizable.
On the R6, there are large outdoor spaces - the cockpit gains up to 40% more space when the bulwarks are open - perfectly arranged, but also incredible outdoor spaces, spacious and comfortable. While it could be used as a real dayboat, its flexible configuration - 2 or 3 cabins - allows you to enjoy a long stay on board.
A generous cockpit with all comforts
The large bathing platform can be equipped - as an option - with a telescopic platform called "Transformer". The latter can be used for boarding and alighting, but also as a bathing ladder or diving board or to facilitate launching and alighting on board a tender or jet ski.
A huge sunbathing area - which can cover an optional tender garage - occupies the aft space of the cockpit. Underneath the huge hard-top, well protected behind a very large windshield that climbs to the roof to offer greater protection (this was not the case on the R4) is the dining area.
Dining room with U-shaped benches (whose backrest tilts to take advantage of a sea-facing seat) on port side, external galley and helm station with double bench on starboard side. To guarantee the owner's privacy, the worksite concealed access to the skipper's cabin under the bench in the dining area. Admittedly, this access is more than discreet, but not necessarily practical to use.
Inside, there are up to 3 cabins - two are available as standard - a small lounge with kitchen and two bathrooms. The layout is luxurious and the finishes impeccable, but more than that, the solutions offered are ingénieuses?!
Thus, the large mirror below the descent acts as a television screen, but also as a door to hide the refrigerator. Similarly, in the owner's cabin, access to the bathroom is "hidden" by imitations drawer and you can only see feu?! It seems like an extension of dressing?!
The owner's bathroom is spacious with shower, sink, toilet and even a bidet... An equipment that you are not used to meeting on a boat.
Two options are available for the engine: 2 Volvo Penta IPS 800 or 950 engines for a maximum speed of 38 knots and a range of 280 km.
Elegance and design
While the Evo R6 retains the convertible look of the R4, it provides the comfort of a large cabin cruiser. The boat is therefore more comfortable, with differences in the layout. On the R4, only a double bed was available at the front.
Apart from the very successful design and the incredible impression of quality and finish, the yard was able to bring in some real innovative tricks. With the R6, Evo Yachts now has the cards in hand to compete with the biggest yachts.
