This is one of the great new features of the Grand Pavois 2017 . Great not by its size, but by its concept. The Nexus 870 Revo The Maxus, designed by the shipyard that produces the Maxus sailboats, is a motorboat conceived and thought for cruising.
It offers impressive roominess and volume for its size! Its layout is reminiscent of a sailboat. But for cruising to be comfortable, the displacement must be smooth and shock-free. This is why the shipyard has decided to launch a motor boat with a displacement hull.
Both river and sea
This type of hull is found more often on river boats than on sea boats. However, displacement hulls offer many advantages. The maximum speed is penalized by the hull speed, but on the other hand the behaviour is very smooth, the boat never slams into the wave and accelerations are quiet. No need to stay on board while the boat is sailing.
Reassuring first tests
Just before mooring her to the pontoon of the Grand Pavois, the whole team of CatWay importer Maxus in France, was able to test the boat. "It fits perfectly with its cruising programme", explains Jean-Baptiste Bittard, "Taking to sea with the Nexus 870 Revo makes me want to take some friends to a good restaurant on the island opposite!"
Presented with an in board motor
In its standard version, the Nexus is offered with a 30 hp Yanmar. With it it reaches a maximum speed of 8 knots. This model will appeal to customers looking to enjoy beautiful cruising without always having an eye on the fuel tank. Indeed, the consumption is then less than 3 l/h! A 45 hp inboard version is also available as an option. But the Nexus will also be available as an outboard. In this case, it will adopt a 40 hp with a high thrust base. But for the more playful, it will also be possible to equip it with a 100 hp (the maximum power). The hull then becomes semi-planing and the boat reaches 20 N... But is this the real programme of the boat?
Available in France
The Nexus 870 Revo seems to meet customer expectations since the shipyard launched this model in Poland in April 2017 and now has already produced 20 boats. It arrives at the Grand-Pavois de La Rochelle 2017 for the first exhibition in France. It is now available at 68,297 euros (incl. VAT) in its outboard version and 77,300 euros (incl. VAT) in its 30 hp inboard version.
