The breathtaking feat of a non-stop round-the-world voyage
Szymon Kuczy?ski, supported by the Northman shipyard, has embarked on an extraordinary adventure aboard his Maxus 22, a small 6.36 m production sailboat, to sail non-stop around the world . The yacht was designed from the outset for this challenge, with crash boxes at the bow and stern, a mini dog house and a watertight door to protect the companionway. Szymon has set himself the goal of beating Alessandro Di Benedetto's record on a modified Mini 6.50 by 268 days.

Technical challenges and ocean victories
Setting off from Plymouth on August 19, 2017, Kuczy?ski quickly faced formidable challenges, passing through the 3 iconic capes. Despite capsizing near Cape Horn, where his mast was seriously damaged, he deployed an ingenious DIY system to keep the boat afloat . He decided to remove the boom, abandoning the use of the mainsail and using only his headsails.

Admirable resilience despite obstacles
After weeks of sailing with a weakened mast, Kuczy?ski faced headwinds and adverse weather conditions that slowed his progress. However, his intrepid spirit and determination guided him to the finish in Plymouth on May 17, 2018, after 29,044 miles covered in 270 days .

A victory despite constraints
Although Kuczy?ski was unable to beat the previously held record of 268 days, he did become the first person to complete a non-stop circumnavigation on such a small yacht, the Maxus 22, thus inscribing his name in the annals of circumnavigation.

A moving conclusion to an unforgettable world tour
Szymon Kuczy?ski's daring and relentless adventure not only demonstrated his tenacity, but also highlighted the potential of compact sailboats to achieve considerable feats.
